Led by Blue Venture Investors, Center for Innovative Technology and the Virginia Tech Investor. The company intends to use the funds its market reach through direct and indirect partner activities, and to further enhance the company’s threat intelligence platform.
Immediately, a San Francisco, CA-based, mobile tools startup, has raised $2 million in funding. Investors included Streamlined Ventures, Maiden Lane, Galvanize VC, Queensbridge, Angelist CEO Naval Ravikant, Haroon Mokhtarzada, Friendster founder Jonathan Abrams, TalentBin co-founder Peter Kazanjy, EdgeSpring co-founder Ryan Lange and HootSuite CEO Ryan Holmes.
Cybereason, a Cambridge, Mass.-based provider of threat detection solutions, has raised $25 million in Series B funding round, with participation from US-based defense contractor Lockheed Martin. Spark Capital led the round, with existing investor CRV also contributing in the funding round. The funds will be used to expand its R&D, support sales, and marketing efforts.
