Virginia-based iMapData, a leading data visualization and analysis firm, and Bethesda-based PlanetRisk have announced a merger to create a threat and mapping company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.The combined company will be called PlanetRisk, offering the market with a powerful and highly advanced level of informed decision-making.
The new company will allows users to monitor risks and threats to assets on a real-time software-as-a-service-delivered dashboard with PlanetRisk’s big data advanced algorithms and expertise.

Paul McQuillan, CEO of iMapData, will continue in this role in the new organization that has become PlanetRisk while Mark Dumas, who founded PlanetRisk last year, will become chief strategy officer of the new PlanetRisk. Dumas will collaborate with McQuillan on continuing to expand the company’s capabilities and solutions to meet the demands of its incredible roster of customers in the global private sector and in the U.S. government.
