Metaverse is the new buzzword in the tech industry. The word “Metaverse” refers to a shared virtual 3D world, that is immersive and interactive, and where users or people can socialize, hang out, watch movies, shop, play games, and even earn.

Although Metaverse is still in the early stage, signs of progress are already here, and some of them are already on the advanced stage. One good example is the metaverse gaming project called DigiNation.

This fast-growing gaming project has successfully raised a total of $2.4 million from notable venture capital firms and strategic players in the tech industry. The new financial backers include Spark Digital Capital, 21DAO Ventures, YuanyuzhouVentures, RareStone Capital, Huobi Ventures, Longhash Ventures, and OKEx Blockdream Ventures.

What is DigiNation? DigiNation is an all-encompassing ecosystem that comprises an extensive virtual environment, a 3D design studio called DigiMaker, playable characters (represented by DigiAvatar NFTs), a web gallery named NFT Live, and an OpenSea-esque integrated marketplace known as DigiMarket. DigiNation has been described as a “Web3 metaverse featuring NFT-based innovation.”

The team behind the metaverse project DigiNation envisages a collaborative, community-powered virtual environment where NFTs can travel between metaverses. The idea is that DigiAvatar NFTs can access not only the DigiNation world but also other metaverses. Also, third-party NFTs can be imported to DigiNation world via a web gallery called NFT Live.

This latest metaverse project is currently gearing up for its public mint on November 15, and the metaverse team plans to kick start DigiNation by next month. The team hopes to launch a new multiplayer online tournament called Crypto Survivor, a sort of amalgam of the TV series Survivor and Squid Game. It plans to invite reputable NFT projects such as CryptoPunks and Pudgy Penguins to join the newly-revealed multiplayer online tournament.
