Kambi Group, a Malta-based B2B provider of sports betting services to licensed B2C gaming operators, announced that it has acquired Shape Games, a Denmark-based front end technology specialist, for €78.1 million.

The deal is expected to strengthen Kambi’s sportsbook proposition. It will also boost Kambi’s capabilities in the mobile space where the vast majority of sportsbook turnover originates.

Founded in 2018, and based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Shape Games is a market-leading frontend provider delivering award-winning digital B-to-B platforms for the iGaming industry. The company is currently focused on driving customer engagement and retention through the delivery of its customizable, fully native frontend technology to leading sportsbook and casino operators.

Shape Games currently employs 80 full-time equivalent employees, and operates offices in Denmark, Spain, the Isle of Man, and Latvia.

As part of the deal, Shape Games will continue to provide its services on a standalone basis to all operators. CEO Christian Risom, Chief Product Officer Nicolas Linde, and Chief Technical Officers Ole Gammelgaard and Philip Bruce, will continue to work and lead Shape Games post-acquisition.
